What is Strategic Evaluation?
Strategic evaluation is an in-depth evaluation model which provides an objective method for assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of large-scale federal grant projects. Strategic evaluation identifies the achievements and shortcomings of a grant project and can help determine when and what corrective actions need to be taken to accomplish the set goals and objectives. In addition to the standard evaluation methods of formative and summative assessment, strategic evaluation looks at budget expenditures, regulatory compliance, state laws and standards which may be affecting outcomes, and institutional policy, process, and strategy to determine the variances which exist between ideal and actual performance indicators.
Strategic evaluation services for grant projects can be paid with federal money, so no institutional funds are needed.
